Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of CamRelay for macOS, published by Touchbits Inc. (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the app you agree to them. CamRelay is distributed through the Mac App Store, so Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement applies to your purchase and use. These terms supplement it, and Apple’s agreement takes precedence wherever the two conflict.
1. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use CamRelay on Macs you own or control.
- The free app may be used indefinitely at no cost. It adds a CamRelay.app frame around the picture that apps see.
- CamRelay Pro removes that frame and unlocks Picture settings.
You may not resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the app, nor decompile, reverse-engineer or attempt to circumvent its purchase checks.
2. In-app purchases and subscriptions
CamRelay Pro is sold inside the app, on its CamRelay Pro page, through the App Store. Restore Purchases is on the same page. Prices are shown in USD and may vary by region.
- Pro Yearly is an auto-renewable subscription at $1.99 per year.
- Pro Lifetime is a one-time, non-consumable purchase at $9.99.
For Pro Yearly: payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings. If you buy Pro Lifetime after Pro Yearly, cancel the yearly subscription yourself so it does not renew.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled solely by Apple under its own policies. We can neither issue nor refuse an App Store refund.
3. Acceptable use
CamRelay is meant for your own Macs and the cameras and microphones you are entitled to use.
- Stream only cameras and microphones that you own or have permission to use.
- Respect the laws on recording and consent that apply where you and the people in view or earshot are. You are responsible for telling people when they are being seen or heard, and for obtaining consent where the law requires it.
- Do not use CamRelay to watch or listen to anyone without their knowledge.
4. Third-party software and services
CamRelay works alongside software that we do not make or control, including BlackHole, Tailscale and meeting apps such as Chrome, Zoom, Teams and FaceTime. Those products are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for them, for how they treat the video or audio you give them, or for changes to them that affect how CamRelay works with them.
5. Disclaimers
CamRelay is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it will work with every app or network, or that a connection or picture quality will be maintained.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, work product, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of CamRelay — whether or not we were advised of the possibility.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you actually paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 10.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot lawfully be limited, including consumer rights.
7. Updates and availability
We may release updates that change, add or remove functionality. We may discontinue the app. If we do, purchases you have already made remain valid for the versions you have installed.
8. Termination
This licence ends if you materially breach these terms. You may end it at any time by deleting the app. Sections 5, 6 and 10 survive termination.
9. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms; the current version always appears on this page with its date. Material changes do not apply retroactively to a purchase already made.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your place of residence.
