Privacy Policy
Touchbits Inc. collects no personal data through CamRelay. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no ads and no crash reporting SDKs. CamRelay moves your camera and microphone between your own Macs, so this page says plainly where that data goes and where it does not.
Your camera and microphone
Camera video and microphone audio travel only directly between your own paired Macs. They are encrypted with AES-GCM. They never pass through, and are never stored on, Touchbits servers — we have none.
CamRelay asks macOS for camera and microphone permission. It uses those permissions only to stream to your paired Mac or to feed CamRelay Camera on that Mac.
What stays on your Mac
The following is stored only on your Mac, in the app’s sandboxed preferences:
- Pairing keys for the Macs you have paired.
- Paired Mac names.
- Your settings.
Choosing Forget for a paired Mac, or deleting the app, removes this information.
Local network access
CamRelay uses local network access only to find and connect to your other Macs (Bonjour). It does not use it for anything else.
Connecting through other networks
If you connect through a third-party network such as Tailscale, that service’s own policy applies to the traffic it carries. Video and audio are still encrypted by CamRelay before they leave your Mac.
Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. Touchbits receives no payment details. The app receives only Apple’s anonymous transaction confirmation, on your device, so it knows whether Pro is unlocked. Apple’s handling of that transaction is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
What we never collect
- Names, email addresses or accounts — the app has no sign-up.
- Your video or audio, in any form.
- Analytics of any kind, including screens opened or features used.
- Advertising identifiers, or any data for tracking or ads.
- Crash reports — no crash reporting SDK is included.
Children
CamRelay is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the change will be posted on this page with a new date.
